Hey, do they make this in Sony A mount?

They say so on their website:

Same here. Same price. IS against 1 stop. But does the 2.0 reach the Canon L IQ?
Life has been so easy before 2012

So true...
Anyway, it's low season for me, the bulk of my photo activity will start again in march/april. Hope I'll be able to resist and hold on a few extra months

So far about prices
Its just announced and available and sold for about $ 899, while Sigma offers it at 1.400,00 MSPR on their site. Can I expect it will be 550 (instead of 999) here in gerrnany about next monday?

Why did this thread have to pop up today? I'm broke enough as it is! Guess I won't be eating for the next week

You spend 900$ a week for food? - Yes, you should stop for next week and purchase the lens.

Huge differences among the MSPR and "street" prices are pretty typical of Sigma.
We have seen it happening with Tokina too.

I know it from some Tamron lenses.

No I don't spend that much on food but every dollar helps if I want this lens!

Actually, maybe I should sell my 16-35L to fund this lens... don't really use it that much to begin with.

Good for Sigma, hopefully the 24mm will be this good too.

Based on my own food consumption I could own this lens next year at thanksgiving if I took a 7 day brake every second week ...

I bet that's only for yourself. I have a total of 7 people in my household.

Decisions...Canon 35 f/2 IS or Sigma 35 f/1.4 for about the same price...

Yes. I hoped Roger at Lensrentals has already got a 35mm 2.0. But they did not.

That's even better! If all 7 people will take a 7 day brake every second week, you will be ready 7 times faster than Ralph

Not really. I have to feed (half of) a cat, too.
