I use SmugMug for my web site. I feel it's one of the best options available.

One of their vendors is offering a contest to win a SmugMug web site for life, so here is your chance to win.

I'm about to drop smug mug. I swear the uploaded is a piece of shit, they raised their prices from $100 to $250.

Robert...I understand your feelings about the increase...as I too thought it was a little excessive.

BUT

In the five years that I've used them, I have found that the customer service is second to none, up time on site is almost a pure 100%, and with the quantity of images I have stored, even the new price isn't that bad (over 15000 images in one category).

There is a price to maintain such a service and to also expand compatibility to the up and coming options needed to offer service to different formats.

Yes...I just wish they could have done it in increase steps...but then....we all still have the options of choice.

A free site for life...well...enter and never have to worry about rates again

How often are you actually on your site? For all that I like SM, their uptime is lousy for any modern online service...

Kay...I would be interested to hear when
You experienced down time....

Only a couple years ago I found that since
I did most of my uploads late at night did I run into conflict
with system up dates

Since that time I've never had any issues, and
I'm on my many times during the day

Holy cow! That is a ridiculous price increase. I dropped SM a year ago, but if I hadn't done so then, I certainly would have after that price hike. I'm just a hobbyist anyway, so the Pro account was a splurge for me at best.

Wait... I just checked their pricing and I think you meant to type $150, not $250. That still would have sent me packing, though. And they have a higher level Business account now, too, for a whopping $300. I guess it's a good deal if you sell a lot.

If you recall, I mentioned in your other thread on this topic (which Fred deleted) that you might expect some spam from photowhoa.com. Well, I was correct on that point. I sent one entry using a disposable email address, and today the spam began to arrive - 7 emails so far.
