Both very nice shots. I don't, for the life of me, understand the overwhelming preference for 2. 1 has a wonderful
atmosphere to it and a really nice composition. It does a lot more for me than 2.

Well, you are not out of line. As a matter of fact, I printed both and I printed nr 1 first. Arstistically I sure like this nr 1. But put it all together, nr 2 has an edge. it is unusual. It is contrasty. It is pastoral. it is peacefull. It is serenity itself. And for the photographer it is Serendipity, it is a happy accident or pleasant surprise.
