Woah woah woah, 4k video off of a 1/1.7" sensor?

I wonder what that's going to look like.

Well considering the 1/4" sensors used in camcorders for 1080p video, it is not much of a stretch to get 4K out of the 1/1.7" sensor

Lots of depth of field, some diffraction.

This is curious considering that I believe the FS700 is based off of a similar sensor. The specs state that it is a third more sensitive and almost double the saturation.

The FS700 already is a killer video camera...wonder what Sony has up their sleeves?

Canon better have their act together.

Interesting..

Now, can I have 5x7 sized sensor with around 20 mpix?

I think you probably could, at least 810 bit over 10MP has done years ago http://www.aphotoeditor.com/2011/08/23/mitchell-feinbergs-8x10-digital-capture-back/

Didnt know about this.. interesting. Should be easier and cheaper today. Just wish some manufacturer wanted to do it.. Digital version of Texas "Leica" would be nice..
