Pomona Valley Model Airplane Club had their Wings over Chino event. I figured I would have a look and practice panning. Thought I would get in a bit of practice before Miramar. Feedback is welcome.

They look just like the big boys. You did a great job capturing them.

They sure do look real. Nice job!

The moon shot is definitely cool!

Thanks for all the kind words. I like the moon shot. I never did get around to panning.

nice set, I would imagine RC model planes are harder to shoot than real ones

Nice work Steve. If you can nail these little guys, the real birds should be a snap! When are you going to Miramar? I'll be there all day on Friday if you're going to be there.

Real nice set. They look like they are a much larger scale.

Thanks for the comments. These planes had wingspans from 3ft to over 6ft. I will be at the Semper Fi Chalet on Sunday.

I could see a pan (motion blur) for the low level shots being incorporated?

Thanks Mark. Ed, I was tracking the planes and shooting, but I was shooting in shutter priority with my speed at 1/800 or 1/1000. When I am attempting to pan, I use the same tracking motion but lower my speed to 1/160. I do not know if my understanding is right or wrong, but that is my definition.
