Jude, did you run NR on the feathers? They looks soft for some reasons.

1, 4, 6 and the last are my picks Jude. I love the soft background and am wondering if you ran noise reduction on the feathers as they seem to have great detail in places and none in places I'd expect to see it. Overall these are very nice

Morris

Hi Morris, these were shot in fairly low ISO values. #1 is ISO 320. #2,5,6,7,8 and 10 with ISO400. #3 &4 with ISO 500 and #9 with ISO 640. However, I have ran noise reduction for all the images in Lightroom 3.1 (applied for the whole image) and further noise reductions (for only the BGs) in CS3.

Hi troy, I have ran noise reduction for all the images in Lightroom 3.1 (applied for the whole image) and further noise reductions (for only the BGs) in CS3. That maybe the reason. When you look at the high res images they are not soft. However, when you resize and post them to the web the images looks bit soft. May be I have to take a different approach for web processing. Thanks for highlighting this.

Such a great bird and so well photographed here Jude!
Love the blue eyes and I'm curious what color they change to when the bird hits adulthood?

Thanks Tom for the kind comments. I think when the bird hits its adulthood eye colour changes to yellow.
