I heard today that tomorrow Canon are having a big party in Australia, there is speculation that a big announcement could be taking place at this function!?

I see that Canon Rumours have updated their views on this to say that it is not coming any time soon. Given the low price of the D800, it is looking rather attractive right now!

The more reliable sources like Paul Pope from DPReview are stating the megapixel sensor will appear in a 1D body type.
