I too love the comp. I think you caught it at the perfect time too, since the puppy is looking at the mans paper.

I shoot this with a Nikon D300 lens 18mm to 135mm on a tripod.

Any images should be on tripod. It is way better for your composition and for everything in focus.

What makes this photo excel is the addition of animate objects, the man and the pup, to what is a colourful yet static scene.
