With the tour de france due to start in 12 days, I figured I had to enter a bike photo in this weeks assignment. I have heard that the tour de france is one of the most challenging human endurance sports events, with the participants expending over 34,000 kcal over the 9 days of riding. All on a human invention that has its roots going back to the wheel (~2000 BC) and the chain (~225 BC). |

it is a true test of human endurance...very nice fitting entry, really like the super shallow DoF here. |

Nice shot Tom. Torn the the tour more than ever this year. These dopes are going to dope the event into a non event. That said I will still be watching it. |

Good entry! The tour de France needs to be a bit more clean!! Lance Amstrong did no good to it. It is too bad because this tournament is in a fantastic area but it is full of "drugs". Hopefully, they will clean all that! |

I like simple abstracts that capture the theme and you have done just that. Good idea and execution. |

The tour is actually about 20 days of riding totaling about 2100 miles. |
