Wow that's some story. Glad you're okay.

And your gear still works. That's the icing on the cake...

Amazing and great story.

Tell the truth, you were eating a messy bologna sandwich while photographing!

OMG, that is crazy!

Hummm, 600mm lens, $10,000, just out and hard to get Nikon D4, $6000, Carbon Fiber tripod and head, $1500, watching a naughty bear stomp and chew on it... NOT PRICELESS!! I would drop and cry!

(unless I had one of these)

you can't outrun a grizzly, but you don't have to, you just have to outrun your camera

At least you have photos to show the insurance company! How often does that happen? Glad you're OK and kept on shooting! This is a perfect example of why I shoot weddings; even the WORST MOB doesn't stack up to this!

You must shoot some tame weddings ;p

I think you pushed the shadows too much in the first couple of pics.

They need some more contrast.

Wow, you are crazy not carrying anything ( 44 cal). A grizzly at full speed, woud be on you in a heart beat. Specially if they think you are retreating in fear. Great shots, story! Good thing he was busy trying to chimp.

To all those trigger happy members of the forum. How many shoots would you need to stop a Grizzly bear barreling towards you providing you are not James Bond.

crazy! good thing you had a 2nd camera on you--nice to know your gear survived--obviously designed to even survive a bear attack
