Corey, your Northern Milky Way is fantastic.

I just have to get out of the city one of these days...

Wow, just wow.

Where is this scene? Are you up Edmonton way or farther north? I assume the Northern Lights are on the right of the frame, or is that from another source?

I'm in La Ronge, Saskatchewan. Yes, Northern Lights on the right hand side. It's hard to find a night where there aren't any. Makes shooting the milky way a bit difficult because the lights overpower the stars.

Thanks guys and Monty, Nice portrait!

There are more people in the distance on the ridge and at larger res you can see a wind farm on the horizon, not bad for a hand help "snap" into the sun!

I am yet to use my D800 with tripod and remote release, can't wait!

Also I just took delivery of a Tokina 16-28mm so looking forward to testing that out...

Keep the photos coming

Congrats, Monty!!! I think you made a great choice. I love my MF Nikors like you, but the 24-70 is such a brilliant lens. It's bokeh is amazing for a zoom. D800 is just superb as well.

Thanks Dean. So far I'm really liking both the lens and the camera. With the grip that thing weighs a ton...
I find I stil take the same "everyday" pictures Work and the doggies

As I was walking out of work today, I grabbed a picture of Hanna, the receptionist at work.
