I photographed a proposal yesterday and the camera's resolution was perfect for this shoot. I had to be far back and didn't want to invest in an teleconverter, so I cropped a full 36 MP image down 30% and thus turned my 70-200 VRII into a 320mm. It was very helpful.

Spring hasn't really started here, so only dull landscapes.
I liked the composition in this. Nikon 70-300 VR. @200mm f8

D800 + 85 1.8D at ISO 4000 (with raynox dcr-150)

could someone do me a favor and let me know the files size of a 12-bit lossless compressed NEF using the 1.2x crop mode?

I'm thinking of getting a D800 and using it frequently in 1.2x crop with the new 28mm, effectively giving me a 35mm f2 at 25 megapixels.

Brett, it's all about the 14 but compressed dude and I'll be shooting in FF, 1.2x, and DX...you know I love those crop modes

Those surf shots I posted above started out as uncompressed 1.2X crops and ran from 50 to 52 megabytes.
