From my experience, 1D images are very vivid straight out of camera. Colors seems to be somewhat different from newer CMOS based cameras - that is what i like on old 1D.
All A4 prints (8.3 × 11.7) from 1D i have at home are pretty detailed and absolutely no problem to do.
Beyond some disadvantages one can be pretty happy with this camera.
