 FS: 100-400 UV07 $1265 Shipped ..... | |
I have the following three lense for sale:
Canon EF 100-400 f/4.5-5.6L IS, UV07 date code, other than the usual light smudges on the hood there isn\'t a mark on this lens.
What\'s Included? The lens, tripod collar, hood, front and rear caps, lens strap, soft carrying case, user manual, Box with styrofoam inserts, USA warranty card (absolutely everything that it ships with new). It would be hard to tell this lens from new.
Price: $1265 shipped UPS ground (on me). Buyer covers paypal 3.3% fee, if applicable.
Multiple people have PM\'d me to ask me if this lens is sharp. I find this an intriguing question. \"Sharp\" is very subjective. I will say that I did find this lens to be sharp to my eyes. I have NEVER sold a lens that I knew was out of calibration or that I found to be soft. Those are lenses that I would first send into CPS for recalibration, before selling them. Heck, I wouldn\'t want to use a lens that was soft or front or back focusing. I would first send that lens in for recalibration if I thought that it needed it. I would not try to push it off on another photographer. Yes, I have bought lenses from others that I thought were way out of calibration and very soft. I had them fixed by CPS at my own expense, before selling them. This is not one of those lenses. I found this lens to be sharp enough for my needs from the very begining (I am the original and only owner).
That being said, I did once have somebody tell me that they thought that a lens that I sold them was front focusing a little, even though I had never had any problem with the lens when I used it.
If a person were so dishonest that they would try to push a bad lens off onto somebody else, I doubt that they would be honorable enough to answer the question honestly when you asked...\"is the lens sharp?\"
I found this lens to be sharp to my eyes. I was very happy with it. I am NOT selling this lens because it has any kind of problem. I AM selling it because I do not use it enough and I could use the money to fund the purchase of something that I will use more often.
I do hope that this helps to answer some of the questions that folks have had. Thanks again for taking the time to look at my lens.

Sigma 50mm f1.4 EX DG, LNIB (this lens is only three uses shy of being BNIB). THIS LENS IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY INTO SEPTEMBER 2010. I used this lens exactly three times and it performed flawlessly on each occasion. I purchased it for a specific event and hoped my wife would use it after that, but she will not use primes. I did NOT encounter any AF issues with this lens and found it to be very sharp. SOLD SOLD SOLD
