Hmm, I hate to say it, but I think you bought the wrong camera. You either need a D300, or a D3X Hell, why not just get a D300 (throw in the grip while you\'re at it) and see how you go with a 1.4 and your 200-400. That would give you an effective reach of 300-600, plus the TC; 420-840.
Unless of course you\'d rather spend between 8000 and 10,000 dollars on a new lens instead.
