Maybe if you expect sports-capable AF performance you should shell out the money for the sports-capable AF camera, the 1D-series one. I wouldn\'t blame the lens. It\'s clearly mis-focused behind her. Otherwise I\'d suggest you learn to anticipate focus, or otherwise modify your technique (stopping down, for example).

I\'ve heard this suggestion before, and while it would likely improve the sharpness, I\'m one who thinks that if a lens is F/2.8 and has the L label, it should actually work at f/2.8.
