Re: Mola vs Profoto beaty dish

To lock the grid on the Demi, I hook my thumbs (if from front) or fingers (if from rear) thru the long part of the 2 \'clips\' on the grid and pull straight back towards the rear of the dish. The wide part of the clips then hooks with a nice \'click\' behind the Demi\'s lip with the longer part of the clips sticking out like ears. Nice \'just right\' spring tension.

To dismount, I simply pull the \'ears\' out away from the body of the Demi.

If you need a pic of it mounted, drop me a PM

Edit: Just noticed the pic from a fellow user - looks identical to mine when mounted.

Edit2: Have tried a couple of various grids on the Demi, and the Speedo, while a bit heavy, is solid, well built sturdy - and comes paced (unlike at least one other I tried) like they were expecting it to be run over by the UPS truck. Excellent and HIGHLY recommended addition to the Demi.

i definitely like my mola demi with the speedo grid. the mola creates a nice outer feather of light, which is where the parabolic ridges come into play i believe. i love my mola!

Just curious, but how did you mount your Speedo grid to your Demi? I recently picked up the grid, and maybe they changed the design, but the clips that it has on either side both don\'t attach to the Mola\'s lip and obstruct it from sitting flush at the face.

Odd. My Speedo grid clips easily on the outer lip of my Demi.
