How to set up a new computer for PP

One suggestion I have read is to have one hd for the os, one for programs, and one for photo storage...
Not sure about the warranty thing, but I will check that out.
Edit to add:
it looks like the warranty still applies, but they don\'t cover anything I add. I will have to call them to verify...
