Ballhead:

These legs usually come with the B-00 ballhead, but having heard that the standard ballhead is the weakest link in the system for these legs, I found a seller who had (or made) a package with the larger, B-0 ballhead. It’s possible that my legs would close ever so slightly tighter with a smaller ballhead, but I don’t think the difference would be noticeable without a close measurement; it surely wouldn’t make any difference in packing or use.

Not much to complain about this head. It’s super smooth, locks down tight, with no slip/creep in the panning lock or ball. Could it lock tighter? Maybe. I didn’t want to test what the failure point was. I’d like to try the smallest Photo Clam, which weighs the same as this ballhead. The QR takes AS plates, and locks down securely and easily. Given my use for this ballhead, I find the friction knob superfluous (another reason to go with the Photo Clam), but the panning knob quite useful and well made.

The head is not ideal for the 135L + 5D combination at a steep angle. Does it work? Yes. Do I have to be careful, use MLU, and lock it down tight? Yes. With my other lenses: Peleng 8mm, Oly 24mm, 35mm L, FL 55 f/1.2, any angle locks down securely and easily.

Given the online breakdown of an older, different model ballhead from Benro, I do wonder what the internal construction of this ballhead consists of. I hope to break this one down at some point—but not until I have a replacement (Photo Clam PC-30N).
