Re: Getting a D600

Selling the nikon 24-70 is not my goal, it is simply an option. I do have a sigma 24-70 so I really wouldn\'t be missing out in the focal range. I definitely would prefer to keep the Nikon as I realize its sharper and focuses faster.

The D7000 is not a horrible camera by any means, but I really do not think the high iso noise is that great. I see images on this forum from the D600 above 12000 ISO that are pretty low noise. The button layout from the D90 to D7000 was an improvement to me. I did like the feel better as it is a little bigger.

I really do not need the D600, but I am looking for opinions from people that have it. Especially ones that have or had the D7000. The image quality out of the camera just really seems that much better to me from what I have seen.

I am sorry I wasn\'t clear in my post, I gave you my opinion based on what I experienced from owning both. The ISO performance of the D600 is the best I\'ve experienced yet but it\'s only one-stop above the D7000. When I got a D7000 coming from D300 (which is better than the D90) I was really impressed by the D7000\'s ISO performance and that\'s how I based my assumption that the D600 won\'t \"amaze\" you (since the D7000 didn\'t impress you).

Anyway, would I recommend the D600? definitely, it\'s a great camera. Others might comment on its build quality but I find it excellent and if you like the D7000 build then you\'ll like it. Here\'s a shot at ISO 12800 even after playing with highlights & shadows
