Hey Mark,
I have to break with the pack here, and say I like the original better. For me the extra push of magenta would/should be present with that color in the sky, the absence of it would look more manipulated to me. Granted, the "Velvia" look to the image is very saturated, but I don't think overly so. I lived in Page for three years and got to know that country fairly well in my time there, and I have seen the rocks that color with my own eyes.
