Nothing really. I bought it a year or so ago (when they were popularly priced) to replace my original 2001 70-200/2.8 IS. After one week in the field, I did not find enough improvement over the 70-200/4 IS to make hauling it around worthwhile. I suppose the 2.8 IS II will be useful if I ever shoot at f/5 or wider again.
