Pileated Woodpecker
~I only had a small window to shoot this guy. When he wakes up, he only stays in the nest for a few minutes and goes out hunting even before the sunrise. This was shot during the dawn light. I had to use high ISO, low shutter, VR and shot with MirrorUp to hope it stays still and get a sharp image. I am hoping they will nest in this spot and start a family there.
Nature is unpredictable. I have been trying to go back for another day like this one, it has not happened yet. Sometimes, you have to believe that was once in a lifetime moment.
