D7000 + TC16A teleconverter + Micro-Nikkor 105mm f/2.8 AI-S [= 168mm f/4.5], hand held, D7000 flash with diffuser, ISO 500, f/11 at 1/60s. ~20% cropped.
On a DX camera this combo delivers a 252mm equivalent lens, with good working distance to avoid frightening these small creatures.
