The truth about 100-400 + 1.4xTC ?

(1) IQ is pretty good. If there is good light, the combo will give adequate 560mm reach.

The example below shot handheld with 1DsMkII + 100-400 + 1.4xTC MkIII, f/8, 1/400 sec.

(2) AF responsiveness is pi$$ poor.
