400 5.6L + Kenko TelePlus MC4 AF 1.4X DGX Teleconverter
I find the focusing to be fine with center point
focusing even works for BIF if you can follow the subject well enough
the only issue so far is vignetting that occurs - especially at F8 (native F5.6 on the lens)
I crop out the center image and it is sharp with good color and contrast
has been great for small birds so far
This TC also works with the 5D III / 400mm F5.6 and autofocus

I ordered the Tamron-F AF 1.4x teleconverter (non-reporting). I will try it and report back in this thread.
