5DMk3 and F8 focusing


I thought it would be helpful to have one post that summarizes 5DMk3 focusing when using extenders. I am picking up one of these soon and will add my experiences. I never had much luck with my 7D, but let\'s see how it\'s working for others.

So far, reports have the following combinations work well:

100 - 400 + Kenko TelePlus MC4 AF 1.4X DGX Teleconverter
400 5.6L + Kenko TelePlus MC4 AF 1.4X DGX Teleconverter

(from linked thread):
500 L + 1.4 Canon + Keno = works
600 LII + 1.4 SP Tamron + Tamron-F AF 1.4x teleconverter = works

There is some indications the f4 telephotos do NOT work well with a 2xIII and pins tapped.

Can anyone report results? I can edit this post and keep it all together.
