I am looking for some advise here from anyone who would know or can help. Recently, as a few weeks ago, it was reported to me that an image of mine was used in a large publication. After looking into it, there is very slim chance that it isnt my photo that was used. Id rather not say where right now, but it is a globally published magazine and the image also appears on their website with the article. I started by sending a polite letter to the editor of the magazine, which if it made it to them id be surprised but thought that would be a good start. The email had a low res copy of my photo, a copy of the photo off their website attached to it. That was 2 weeks ago today and I havent heard anything back. The image itself has my name on it, which was chopped off for the collage they made. I also sent a follow up email back to the editor and included the media dept in it late last week asking to please contact me. Any advise on how to get a response on how they obtained my image and why it was used without consent? And is there anything I can do about getting them to compensate me for this? Having stuff published before I know there is a proper way to go about handling this from their end and this was not it and it irritates me. Thanks in advance for any help.
