I\'m changing the subject a bit but I just got back from visiting my brother in Anchorageand I used the new 70-300L lens for many of my shots....It is lighter than either lens you are consdering. I would probaly go with the 100-400 if u have no other option. A 17-40 would be a good lens to supplement this or the 24-105 IS would be great too.
