Re: D4 autofocus getting "confused" and not responding...

Well, there\'s finally some closure for me on this issue. After no hearing back from Nikon support, I contacted the store and asked for their assistance with Nikon. The manager was awesome and the camera is in the mail back to them and they are replacing it with a brand new one and returning mine to Nikon. I lose out on the free card and reader, but gain piece of mind.

The interesting thing, the last time I tried to replicate the problem, I tried different settings and techniques and found that the vertical shutter release button DID NOT WORK if I positioned the lever to lock the focus point. The camera displayed no info in the viewfinder at all either. There must be a mechanical issue with the shutter release buttons. So, I regained my sanity and am getting a new D4 as well.

I strongly suggest anyone try things with this camera that they don\'t normally do so you can find any bugs during the exchange period. Who wants to send a brand new $6000 camera for warrantly repair?
