Ralph, I shoot mainly wildlife and the 70-300L IS and is always attached to one of my bodies.
I\'ve had it for quite a while and I\'m very happy with the lens. Sharp, fast focusing and with an excellent IQ. I also have the 70-200/2.8 IS MkII and it is hard to tell the difference between the two lenses from the images. It has replaced my 100-400.
