canon 24 1.4II on 5d2 | |
Just picked up a brand new copy of this lens.
Initial results, not great. So I Microfocus adjusted the lens (have not had to do that for my new lenses). it was back focusing, put in -6.
Is there a focus shift at f2.8 with this lens?
does any one have issues with focus consistency, esp with far objects (20 feet away)?
Center sharpness if very good in focus. corner sharpness is good, but even at f 5.6, does not have perfect corners (my tse 24 is sharper at f 3.5 than the 24 1.4 is at f 5.6) is this expected?
thanks for your thoughts.
Edit. I am putting these examples as to focus inconsistency.
I shot these at the acquarium today, 6 shots in a row, f 2, 1/25 sec, iso 800. set to center focus point, AI focus, 4 fps. point of focus is the polar bear.
here is the sequence of the middle 4
frames 1, 2, 3, and 6, are in very good focus. frames 4 and 5 are both back focused. here are crops of frame 3 and 4 4 is obviously back focused with the pinguin in the background in focus. 5 looks the same.
