p.1 #1 · Closeups with 50 f/1.8 and Canon 250D

Took these this summer using a Nikon 50 f/1.5 and a Canon 250D close up filter. In retrospect, I could have afforded to stop down a little to get some extra DOF, but the fun is in the learning! Any thoughts?

Sweet bokeh, but not much magnification. That's why I'm getting a dedicated macro lens. I have that 50mm 1.8 and it is outstanding............

1 and 4 are my favorites.

1 might benefit from stopping down for sharpness, but the bokeh looks very nice as is.

The colors in 4 are great, but the stem, being dark, sharp, and in focus is distracting. Otherwise, it's very nice!

I have to agree on all fronts, more mag would be nice, but the low mag with the ability to focus close can make for some unique compositions.

Thanks Ariel,

#1 could be fixed in two ways, stopping down or getting my focal plane parallel to the flower in focus. I thought I was

Gosh, never noticed that about #4, but now that you mention it, yea ... I'll have to watch for that. Thanks. Would have been easy to fix by moving a petal or two.
