CZJ DDR Tessar 50/2.8
I ran into an issue with this lens, the front element was loose and the retaining ring wouldn't tighten any more,
so it sat in a drawer for 4 months till tonight, I decided to open her up and see what's going on, and re-lube if I get that deep.
Well it looks like someone installed the retaining ring backwards she's all lubed up and ready for pictures.

Hi,
James (Lightshow): Does it look anything like this? I just got my Exakta-NEX adapter in this past week, so I will give this one a spin also...I count 15 iris blades (if my math & eyesight is good ).

I just bought a Contax 645 APO-Macro-Planar. It's of somewhat limited use to me at the moment, but I've always admired it and it was a good price in mint condition, so I just HAD TO buy it...
I love macro lenses, and from what I've heard, this one is outstanding. I'll be doing a 4x ~100mm macro lens comparison post when I receive it.

"I just HAD TO buy it" - - I know that feeling Brian!
I bought a "slightly cheaper"macro lens from Finland recently - a Tamron 90/2.5 and from limited general and very limited macro use I am pleased with the cost-benefit ratio!
Also en route from the the USA in the near future are a Canon FD 24/2.8 and fro Germany a Zeiss (Contax) 135/2.8. I already own the lovely Canon 135/2L but I am in love with Zeiss lenses so I just had to buy it (at a very good price).
John - that's a monster 200-500 zoom - please show pic on Sony 5N or M43 cam

I thought I saw an old friend...I use to own that same lens, but it had a different serial number. Worked great on a Exa with Fuji Velvia.

Hi folks
I thought you might like to see some examples of the OM-D & Zeiss Sonnar 135 f2.8 combination. I used my youngest boy as the subject as he's easier to boss around than my wife or dog ;-)

Thanks for posting. As cameras get better, the more attractive all the Contax lenses seem to look, these 135/2.8 ones go for $170 at keh. Colour in particular is attractive, rich yet natural - a refined look.
I sometimes wish I had one of all of them, probably would if I didn't need Leitax mounts ;-)
These also show how good bokeh can look, well defined content even at long tele perspective, yet stylish *and* informative, and even contributing to very high quality 3D.

Thanks, Lent. These are early shots and I was experimenting with aperture and DOF. The first one was close to wide open, the third (from memory) was around f8 and the rest, well, I can't remember. One issue is lack of EXIF data. Not sure that I'm ready for the exalted Zeiss thread based on the quality of posts there!
Philip, thanks for the feedback. I always say to folks here than one can buy in the US any item paying in $$ what one pays in ££ here!
