wow, those are some crazy prices. for what it's worth i have my doubts about how it hold up to the 7's sensor. i'm guessing a fair bit of CA and softness towards the edges. ought to be pretty nice for closeups though.
You may be right, but I've seen some fairly dazzling landscape shots taken with the lens on the 7 (of course, I have no idea how much they've been processed and cropped).

well, got my canon 55 1.2 aspherical today. they didn't charge me for customs/import charges, so it actually ended up to be $499 shipped from italy.
i don't think the seller knew what he had, as he titled/priced it as just the regular SSC version, instead of the aspherical. got the edmika adapter too, so can't wait to shoot with it!

Okay, so you are right, although it's not nearly as soft at the edges as the Oly 21/2 or 3.5. CA's about as bad, color's less neutral but more pleasing. Vignetting's fairly well controlled wide open, thanks to the large front element. With the exception of the amount of distortion evident (BD close up, pincushion wide, but nothing too complex so far) it's a lot like shooting with a slightly wider, bigger, heavier Rokkor/Leica-R 24/2.8. That's my initial impression, anyway. I'll post some samples in the NEX Images thread.

cool, i do like the rokkor/elmarit 24mm, so if it performs similarly things can't be too bad.

Yeah, not bad at all. I'll shoot some direct comparisons over the weekend. My only problem if they are as close as I feel they are is that there's probably not enough optical difference to justify owning both, particularly given the size and weight difference. If that ends up being the case, I'll try and trade the 21 for a 17.

Hi
I'm new here and this is my first post. I have shot with Nikon pro gear since 2006 but have put this up for sale now that I've bought into m4/3 as can be seen below. Latest purchase was a Zeiss Sonnar 135mm f2.8 prime that I attach to the OM-D via a Kipon convertor.

Hi Nikko, welcome to FM!
Nice gear. Nice dog photo, too. Although, the dog's nose looks kind of soft and wet, and the background looks kind of "watercoloury". Did you use a Silkypix RAW converter? (just kidding...)

Scored a Nikkor 50mm f1.8 AI, the original long-nose version, not the pancake. It's the only one of the manual focus Nikkor 50mm's that I hadn't shot with before.

Contax Zeiss 85/1.4
n_i_k_k_o,
Welcome in! Nice µ4/3 score! The OM-D looks real nice! The 135/2.8 is a sweet lens too! I have 3 of them... Anyway, I look forward to seeing your shots with it on FM!

Just found a Rokkor 58/1.2 in excellent condition (with original front & rear caps) from a local camera shop. It seems no one is interested in this beautiful lens, so I take it home.
