I have a Rokkor X version that I think Jim converted prior to my buying it, it looks to be in better condition than mine.
I used to have the 35/1.8 before I lost it.

Rollei Distagon HFT 35/2.8.
Yasterday I received Rollei-NEX adapter and did quick comparison test of Planar 50/1.7 C/Y versus recently acquired Rollei Planar 50/1.8 HFT.The IQ differences are insignificant.w/o Planar C/Y has very slightly less CA and veiling.Stopped down it is tiny bit contrastier.Rollei OTOH has closer mfd - 45cm vs 60cm.
Rollei lenses with Zeiss brand names are in fact as good as C/Y Zeisses but 40-60% cheaper (my mint- Planar cost me 49 Euro+shipment). This encouraged me to try Distagon 35/2.8,which I expect to be as good as Distagon 35/2.8 C/Y that I got.

White the optical part of the Rolleis are often as good, or close, at least some of the lenses have inferior aperture blade counts, down to an amazing minimum of three, so unless you shoot wide open all the time, you may get some undesirable boke characteristics.

I bet you could have got the Flektogon's working perfectly. They are very simple to disassemble. My blades were sticking occasionally, a good clean, and mine is now flawless.
Usually you can't lose pulling them apart and seeing whether it is possible to clean them.

Yes,but I think classic Zeiss constructions like Planars,Distagons,Tele-Tessars and Sonnars have similar number of the aperture blades.I don't remeber how it goes with Mamiya made Rolleinars but it's easy to find.
My HFT 50/1.8 Planar has 6 blades like C/Y 50/1.7 and very similar (not so pleasing) bokeh. Here is shot w/o on the NEX5N:

You're right. They are mechanically simple, but being impatient and not very handy at tools I'm usually avoiding home fixing.

Stumbled across three OM lenses in good shape yesterday:
50/3.5 macro
35-70/3.6
300/4.5
Now I just have to wait for the OM>NEX adapter to get here next week to shoot some test shots.
All of them are very decent.Maybe 300/4.5 lags a bit behind because of it's long mfd,CA and softness wo,but all in all nice purchase.
Yestarday I managed to buy MC W.Rokkor 28/2.8 - the last one to complete series of late MC Rokkors from 1973-1977 that I have. Now among other MD Rokkors/Plain MD lenses I enjoy 24/2.8 MC+28/2MC+28/2.8MC+35/1.8MC+35/2.8 MC+50/1.4 MC PG+85/1.7MC+135/2.8 MC+200/4MC - the best Rokkor series overall IMO.
