p.1 #1 · New Voigtlander Goodies

I didn't see this posted already, but two 'new' lenses on the way from Cosina Voigtlander.

http://www.photoscala.de/Artikel/CP-2011-Zwei-lichtstarke-Festbrennweiten-von-Voigtlaender

the 75/1.8 Heliar Classic is coming in SL-II variation which means EF/AI-S mount AFAIK.

And the new version of the 35/1.2 Nokton in Leica M mount is coming. Interesting new specs include 0.5m close focus, 16mm reduction in length and 2mm reduction in diameter. If these specs are measured differently to the old specs they're obviously less exciting.

You're about 13 hours late.

Yes the 75/1.8 SLII is in EF and AI-S mount, as you can see in the table on that page.

I assume so, as that is how the other EF-mount Voigtländer lenses work.

It will be interested to see how Voigtlander's 75/1.8 lens will perform... but most important is the market price for it.

No most important is the performance Who like to buy it even with a low price if the performance is really bad

I've never used MF on my canon before.. with focus confirmation.. but I was under the impression that the 7d did not work properly with Zeiss glass for lighting up or whatever??

It would be interesting to try!

Zeiss ZE lenses work on every Canon body. And you have about everything except the AF.
"The manually focusable ZE lenses (for EF mount) feature electronic shutter control and additional electronic contacts to the camera. All existing exposure programs (P, AV, TV, M) and the AF confirmation function of the camera are supported; lens information (focal length and speed) is passed on to the camera."

+1. I doubt anyone buys the Cosina products for convenience and cost.

The M-mount version is very nice. It's sharp stopped down and has some nice spherical aberration wide open, which gives it a cool effect for portraits. The look is actually quite similar to the Leica 75mm f/1.4 Summilux-M. I need to get around to writing up my comparison review of these two lenses.
