Phillip -- the last two sets are both lovely and informative. That 18-55 doesn't stand up well against your other glass when you see the results in a set like this. Thanks for experimenting. It is better than a long review.
Thanks! It's the current FLE. My last splurge for a while. I tried one out and fell in love with it for everything from low-light close-ups to classic landscapes. It fits nicely for me in both APS-C and FF, once Sony gets there!
Sebboh, I think that is absolutely perfect. Gives a really good sense of 'quiet' to the forest. Nice work and good job handling the tricky lighting situation. Good depth to the image. Nice work.
Thanks sebboh! Yes, that was with the SB. Also, I have to admit, a little adjustment tool on the painter, as he was fairly dark compared to the background in the natural picture.
I don't think your photo is too busy. I put the leaves in the "texture" column rather than the "busy" column, since they aren't distinct visual elements, they're all the same stuff.
From a senior session last week. Nex 7 with the 50 1.8. I really, really enjoy working with the black and white images that come out of this camera. Blows the 5D II that I was using the past few years out of the water.

hmm, i find it difficult to judge a lens from a single shooting, i will give it some more chances.
I just won an auction for a 35/1.8 SAM attached to a a55 for <400€, I am looking forward to that lens.
