You are living in the US, land of the greatest national parks like Yosemite ... and you want to go to Tenerife?^^
I mean i like the island but we (my GF and I that is) went there mostly because of the good weather. In Summer i would probably know a dozen more interesting destinations in europe.

I was traveling with my GF and it certainly was not a specific photo-trip. We were mostly doing walks but nothing too hard. If i had been on my own you would see many more sunset/sunrise pictures from dramatic locations

This summer my GF is bound by exams so i am on my own, i have thought about trips to Scotland or the alps but it is hard to find company which is fit, and likes to walk and do photography.

Very nice images everyone in these last few pages. SO many to comment individually. Derek, I love the portraits of your daughter. Jim, the way you use your summaron is always very special! Philip, very nice! Taran and Leady, the NEX as birding cameras! Very cool!

Phillip: I use the LA-EA1 with my 85/2.8 SAM. It does AF, but very slowly. Of course a lot of that is the lens, the 85 SAM is pretty slow to AF even on an A99

taran - Nice series with the Nikon 400, the last one of the Blue Heron is very nicely done.

briantho - I would like to see that 300 f2.8 on the NEX.

photoomaha - Nice environmental shots.

Mawz - Nice Macro.

xbarcelo - Nice light on your shot.How do you like using your adapter? How good is the AF?

I would probably use it twice a year, but everytime i see you posting images taken with that lens i want to own a copy

Firstly, thanks for your comment on my photo. It was a nice light. Secondly, about the adapter, I'd say that I think that it's useful mainly for the Sony 70-300 G, which I find an outstanding lens and I think that it's very useful as a birding lens when on a trip, if I only carry the NEX. The AF is very good, really quick and reliable. With the Zeiss I'm not so sure. It's too bulky as a walk around lens (meaning, too bulky considering that the NEX5N is too small and not particularly comfortable with such a big lens. It makes me feel that I should be carrying my A700, which makes the lens very balanced and pleasant to use), particularly when there are other options that are quite good, from primes to even the kit lens, which I find really good for what it is.
So, all in all, I would recommend the adapter, but not for a normal zoom, but for specialty options.
