you guys must think that i live in a rural area while in fact i live less than 5 km from the center of one of germanys top 15 cities
Funny, I always thought you have some lovely cottage outside in countryside. I dont even remember seeing some photo of city from you. Nice masking indeed.

Like em all, that first is pretty interesting. But that bug is amazing! Must been pretty close to front element considering its 30mm macro? Nice flowers too. You have some nice light in first flower shot and very nice "pop" in last one. Must say I like way of your post-processing. Always very crips with pop.
That and your pics always make me think about 5N. (even tho you are using 6 now)

Sebboh , Those bird shots are great. I too would like to know how close you were. How did you get that shot with the 19mm?
thanks!
for all the normal and wide angle shots i was in the neighborhood of 2-6 feet away. the egrets are snowy egrets not great egrets so they are only about 2 feet tall.
theses shots were taken in area that is always full of people where the egrets are often able to steal fish or beg fish from fishermen so they are not terribly shy of people. the egrets move in a regular pattern along the beach so i simply position myself where i know they will end up and wait for them to come to me. the ibis shot was an accident, he landed near me as i was shooting the egret. they're usually a lot more shy of people.
all shots were taken squatted down with the camera held as far away from me as i could and as low as i could. i manual focused using peaking on the lcd except for the sigma shot where i was so low i couldn't get a good angle on the lcd and had to use multipoint AF.
