Nope. Because I also love my Summilux 50. But I did sell my soul to Leica. So, in order to do that, I had to start by buying it back from Zeiss...:-)
But, yes, I find the NEX-Elmar combo extraordinary. And thanks for the kind words. Coming from no less than you...

Thanks! I couldn't pick a Zeiss shot out of a line-up, but the FDs are great. Their cheapness is the icing on the cake.

Hi Philber, these are great, but if you don't mind me saying, they're suffering a little from sharpening halos (white borders around the dark/bright edges).

You probably know more than I do, but where a detailed part I want to sharpen (and can't easily be isolated due to detail) is against a sky or other smooth background, in PhotoShop I select the sky with the magic wand at a large tolerance, invert the selection, contract the edge by 1px, and then can sharpen without haloing that edge transition. Not so easy if that edge is what you want to sharpen! In which case I go easy on the sharpening, and accept that the pic doesn't always need to be razor sharp!

500px does 10% JPEG reduction, but otherwise its pretty good for hosting pics. Tho large - original sizes on Flickr seem same as I uploaded them..

I've noticed in the last few weeks that the sharpening is worse than it used to be, even for large-original sizes. That's why I'm using my 500px account.

If i upload an image to flickr and then download it from flickr, it has the same file-size. Or are you talking about uploading a large image which is now resized worse than before?

To be honest, I don't know what happens. Let me show you the difference:

Original size

Reduced

500px

To me, the original size is a little oversharpened, but less than the reduced size. 500px seems a little soft… So, I don't know what happens or how, but it feels different.

This seems to come up occasionally. I don't know anything about 500px, but with Flickr, unless you're looking at the "original" there is some sharpening applied.

If you wanted untouched 1024 wide images then you'd have to upload them at 1024 wide and use the link for the original when you post them in forums, etc... You must have a Pro Account to access your original files.

I've found that exporting around 1600 wide produces pretty good results with Flickr when I want to show my images at 1024.
