I find #1 the strongest, nice sepia processing.

The images on this page are incredible! Great work here and it just shows that it really isn't the 'camera' anymore that is the limiting factor for great images. Obviously the Nex system can deliver, now it is up to us!! And by the looks of things, you guys are rocking.

You have many fine shots and the most recognizable style in the thread. This my favorite shot so far, and it just stopped me in review of the page.

I think this is the same location of another, wider study, with some fog, with a borrowed lens--which is another fav.

Jacob D - gorgeous moody monochrome work!

taran - fantastic first shot, nice feather detail (if you removed a hint of purple fringing along the left edge of the bird it would be perfect!)

Agreed about the beautiful shot and a signature style.

Philip Reeve's style is even more recognizable IMO (not that it's a contest!). I must admit when I initially looked at his work I thought "trees, trees, more trees" before suddenly realising how subtly he coaxes beauty out of familiar scenes.

Inspiring stuff.

Alan

thanks man :-)

The landscape around here is pretty boring, so i try to make the best out of it.

my observations regarding personal style:
sebboh - unusual perspectives, busy but interesting bokeh, a bit brownish colors, ducks (and other birds)
jim schemel - great everyday-detain shots i would have overlooked, realistic processing
wfrank - great colors and lighting
denoir - great compositions and superp processing, sadly for us he isn't that active anymore
briantho - warm colors, lively processing

now i left too many out but those come to my mind first.

Phillip Reeve, whenever I see a post by you, I know I can expect the highest quality photos and PP. Everyone has their own style, and you nailed some in your list, but few have such consistent qualitiy as you do. Also, kudos for sharing your PP in such great detail.

I miss Denoir's work too, fantastic consistent quality.

aren't they all ducks?

brownish colors eh, maybe i should get my monitor calibrated? or is it more due to subjects? i do like warm tones and sepia.

thanks!

i'm playing with what can be done with split toning lately since i don't have any time to actually shoot.

here's another split toned version of a photo i posted in color last page:

While we're passing around compliments, Sebboh and Phillip's shots this thread have given me more inspiration than anyone in my photography. Mostly I just realized I need to stop always shooting trying to get everything in focus, and everything in the picture. Also, I love both of their color palettes.

Weather has been incredibly wet out here. This morning somehow turned out nice but I was only able to grab a couple ho-hum shots on my commute to work:

I really like that power line shot sebboh! nice one!!

this is one from indo again with the 35mm f1.4 cv
tell me what you think... I had to shoot at f1.4 because of the lighting and even so it was iso2000

Very true, and well said.

Philippe - The third image from Saint Malo is the most interesting to me. I really like it very much

Quicksilver123 - You captured these at just the right time with the color of the sky balancing the light of the buildings. Excellent...
