I own a Nikon AF Nikkor 3,5-4,5 / 28-105 D IF macro 1:2 and I think it's a great day to day lens. I'm very enthusiastic about the new 24-120 f/4 and I was wondering how this new lens compare to the 28-105.
I'm a bit afraid of the distorsion of this new lens...
The question is:
do I buy the 24-120 f/4 or keep my 28-105 and simply add a 20mm in my bag for the WA?
I have both, and roughly I'm using similar setting with where i use D3/D700 as my camera.
If you get used with 28-105, be prepare for more weight on 24-120, and you will feel it during long photo session, and it bigger than 28-105.
No Macro, but probably you will buy Canon 500D.
On the other hand you got fix aperture and VR.
Distorsion, you might adjust it on capture-nx or pt-lens.
Result, well I'm quite satisfied with 28-105, 24-120 it's better.
