p.1 #1 · Wadi Mukheiris

Went hiking through one of the beautiful wadis in Jordan and shot this panorama of 3 shots taken with 17-40mm.

Hello Henk, tough lighting, but you came away a strong comp!
Does this river flow year round? After seeing yours and other images of Jordan, a river such as this is a sharp contrast to the barren countryside that you usually portray.
Great Place, nice blend, thanks for the look!

Nice one Henk - and a rare glimpse of one of the wadis feeding the Wadi Araba that flows year round. Is this the upper end of the wadi or the lower end showing us the latter part of your dry season? Not an area I got to visit when I was working over there.

I'd love to see an image from there with overcast skies to bring out a little more character to the sandstone and limestone but I gather that's your lament as well from your UAE-Photo forum comments.

Thanks for sharing.

Alan

Hi Henk - as on the UAE Forum, I like the comp. Good to see you've cloned out a few artifacts and cleaned up the left foreground as well as brought the sky back as much as you can - the flat light we get in this area of the world is a real challenge.

@alichty - another UAE Forum lurker?!?

Thanks for the kind words. These wadis flow more or less the whole year, but level of water depends on the rains. Jordan is one of the driest countries in the world, but the water seems to get collected in these kind of streams that come from more than 1000m high to the Dead Sea, which is -400m below sea level.

Thank you,Alan. This is actually about 150km north of Wadi Araba, but I intend to do them all in the next period. There are more than 20 to do, so give me some time
Clouds? I wish, just have to do what nature gives me.
