I really like the coloring in the orginal, those yellows greens and purple haze trees are very cool blended together!
#2 works best for me though I might interpret as rock minerals it is still quite dynamic in color

I am with you. I love watercolor painting. Nr.2 works very well and I chose this picture to work on because of its dynamics. I will continue to play with it and may print&frame it. Thanks for good observation and comments.
