hey, did you ever get a 58/1.2 converted for your a900?

and a different view with the 28/2 wide open:

incidentally, all these are on portra 160.

I like that one, too. Portra loves Minolta and Leica lenses.

And, yes, I do own a 58/1.2 and an M-42 to Alpha adapter chipped for 60/1.2. These two things are, at this time, not behaving as a singular unit as I am a slacker.

Anyone have any experience with the 28/2.8 MD? Got it for real cheap and wondering if the price ($35) matches the optics or is it a capable lens?

IT's rather awesome on 4/3 as I recall.

You'll get lots of images like Phillip's cows (above) if you point it in the right direction.

that's always the tough part.

i hear it is very good centrally, but loses something in the FF corners. it should have nice color and contrast. not as good as the 28/2 and 28/2.5 though from what i hear (no personal experience).

Good to hear about contrast and colors. If anything hats all I really want from the lens. I've read it has a bit of field curvature which may be part of he corner issues. I'll be using it on a 5N though.

Personally, I am not interested in a micro 4/3 system.
Did not Sony purchase the Konica/Minolta assets?
Guess not...

As a side topic, I just re-lubed my MC HG 35/2.8, MC PF 58/1.4, and MC PG 58/1.2(plus an FD 50/1.4, and a S-M-C 50/1.4) with the light helical lube(#10) from Micro-Tools(which get it from japan-hobby-tool.com).
They are all much easier to turn now, and fairly smooth, much like the other lenses that are still like new.
Much lighter than the stuff I was using before which is like a gel, it works fine on simple Helicoids like my Helios 44-2, but in more complex lenses it gets a bit hard to turn, though it is smooth.

I will report back my thoughts after I use them more.
