Although any of the FD glass can be converted to EOS, there may be a permanent cost, using losing infinity and mirror interference issues. I have an FD 85mm f1.2 L that I will never put a tool on...too many issues posted here and on other sites, so it sits on a T90 and G2 with adapters. My Rokinon 85mm is the "work-around" for that lens.
Your 35mm f2 (concave front element?) is very sweet glass; sometimes they are better left alone...

Edd
Edd,
There is really only one issue with a converted FD85L....mirror clearance. I shaved my 5D mirror. Problem solved.....and with negligible adverse affect on camera function but with the huge bonus of mirror clearance problem elimination. My FD85L, Rokkor 58 f1.2 and several other beauties can now be used all the way through to infinity. It was definitely worth it to me. No regrets whatsoever.
A tip of the "engineers hat" to you for pulling that (85mm f1.2 L) off. I read through the thread about the conversion a while back...it got to a point where the posters seemed to need a serious increase in their "meds"...just plain nasty!
Aaron D has got me thinking about converting a few others (24mm f2.8, 135mm f2), so I may take the plunge after some other "projects" have been completed and out of the lab.
Thanks for stopping by; your insight is always appreciated.

Edd,
Thanks for the kind and thoughtful comments.
The FD85L is spectacular. It was THE lens to convince me to shave the mirror in my 5D. You will see!!
I have also converted several versions of the FD 24mm and one copy of the 135 f2 (hard to find these days) that remains and probably always will remain in my "keeper" bag.

The conversion of my Canon FD 85/1.2L was hard for me, probably because I did it reversible. At the moment I have it as a preliminary version: I reach ~ 10 meters distance on the EOS 5D with normal mirror. Probabyl I shave the mirror and alter the conversion to reach infinity.
Which lenses are harder to convert for you?
I am very happy with this lens, like to use it wideopen with extension tubes on the EOS 5D:
Edd, I am far away from getting bored
Have some 40 project ideas on my Photo DIY list. And some other things like updates for the 10 year anniversary of my DIY homepage next month.
Thanks, yeah, I was kinda shocked a little. I thought for sure it would halo and be soft in the 1.2 ~ 2.0 range. I mean given it's age and all. At first use this is better than the FL/FD/nFD 50/1.4 and better than the FD/nFD 50/1.2 :P One I haven't tried and therefor can't compare is the nFD 50mm f/1.2L.
Do you have a Minolta Rokkor 58mm f1.2 to compare it against?
My Rokkor seems to be permanently attached to my 5DMkII for a long time now, but these look really nice.

Here's some of the Canon FL 58mm F/1.2 a lens that's showing itself to be much better than I expected!

i have both the rokkor 58/1.2 and the canon FL 55/1.2, which is supposed to be an improvement over the canon FL 58/1.2. the canon is sharper at all apertures but i like the bokeh and color rendering from the rokkor much better. i think i prefer the rokkor for people and near photography and the canon for landscape photography. if sharpness is your biggest criteria the canon is the way to go. jim buchanan on this forum offers conversions to eos mount as well as kits for do it yourself conversions.
Thanks Brad!
buggz2k, the person who sold me the lens has a friend who did this job some times, professionally speaking. PM me if you need some other details.
FM fellows Jim Buchanan and Cogitech (Paul) already did this too.
