BTW, does Lux-R 80 fit Nikon/Canon without mods like Lux-R 35? I have an eye on one (Lux-RE 80), but not sure if it requires any work to fit on DSLR.

In the other thread you mentioned differences between Lux-80 and the other 80+ glass (and N-plastic). I see your past and current images having specific style and look. I feel you’re certainly aiming at that look you achieve in your shots as they complement your subjects. Making a long remark short, I see your position being Leica M-glass and Leica DSLR-converted-Leica-R user as a compromise that may exclude options such Nikkor and Zeiss lenses. Whatever lens/brush you use, please post interesting images and have fun. I may tend to prefer the look of Zeiss for its pop, 3D, but I do enjoy your shots and examples and your contribution to this forum, which I joined for this very reason.

Thanks for your compliment. Fully understand your preference with Zeiss. Since lens choice is very personal, please also take my opinion about particular lens with a grain of salts.
I have been delayed adding Canon 5dIII or 6d in my bags to explore more Alt Lens for budget reason. (I am done with Leica R temporarily, only aim 50lux E60 and have rokkor 58mm 1.2 in my mind) Zeiss P50, and P85 is still on my short list. The reason I sold ZF85 is not because I don't like it but for its direction of focus ring.
As I said, for 80, 85mm, my main usage is portrait and maybe f5.6-f11 landscape, thus, I can't expect anything better about this 80lux.
My Lux R80 is not modified or Leitaxed for Canon...
I just use a cheap adapter for it....

Well, you know how it is; narrowing down to two choices like Lux-R 80 and Zeiss 1.4/85 and being uncertain about the final choice means only one thing; getting both lenses, which I plan to do.
I seem to follow similar idea mentioned recently about getting glass and keeping it forever. Interestingly, it matches my other hobbies with no regrets. I feel that a decade from now lenses with aperture rings will be considered rarities and only well made (metal/glass) survivors will be sold/available from, say some ex-UK Asian colonies, for a small fortune.
After months of debate, I took the plunge and got a 6D. Paired it with my leitaxed 50 summicron, and it’s amazing. So far I’m just focusing using the standard focusing screen and occasional zoomed-in live view, which is amazing. Colours are great, contrast is amazing and the level of detail is incredible. Even took a couple short videos, and they look stunning. More photos to come, but here are a couple samples from a recent outing. In the second one I was trying to see how shallow the DOF was at f/2. No PP for these pics, so these are the JPEGs that come out of the camera. Will switch to RAW soon... So far, loving full frame and manual focus. Bokeh in all the pictures is totally worth it!
