oo oo I have a crit- #13 I would've had her stand a little closer to the window. Perfect rembrandt lighting on her face, but the spill onto her dress is distracting. Thats about all I could come up with.

did you capture the decisive moments? moments of unrepeatable, powerful content and graphics?
a few times, mostly not.
no good idea to shoot analog. mostly looks very snapshotty, like someone who tried but failed.
some are good.
"none were less than great"? i could name some.
no reason for adoration, get real.
this post is suspect-either:
a. axe to grind
OR
b. wanting to look cool by going against the grain (good try, by the way)
you're trying to refute generalizations with generalizations-be specific-and you might want to reference some documentary work that you're familiar with b/c calling these "snapshotty" makes me question your knowledge of the history of photography

You will need to show some of your work to back up what you are saying. We should be supportive here as a photographer community. Your negative comment has no place here!
Hmmm, white balance is off on a few of them.
Great set. I'm a big fan of black and white, even though I think it's easier to make a compelling image by shooting B&W. I saw that because it can take a picture that has less than perfect lighting and make it interesting, where a color image may have been ruined by a dark shadow or hotspot. Regardless there are some remarkably good images here. Very good composition and genuine emotion captured. Most of these would stand on their own just as well in color.
I know a lot of photographers here never shot film. I hadn't shot film in years and last year I was using my niece's film camera and I felt like an idiot when I kept looking at the back after taking a few pictures. Didn't take long to realize it but there is something nice about waiting to see what you got. Sweet work, makes me wish I still had my film camera. I think I sold it for $125 on ebay about 6 or 7 years ago. :-(
I was intimidated by having to see 88 images in a single post, but once I got past that barrier, I'm so glad I've seen them. These are so many great images in this set! Very very well done!!!
I have a whole new respect for you Evan, it's sooo different from your color work but I love it.
