Interesting that so far anyone who has had a successful upgrade is happy to say they've tested and all is well and those who have had a problem (i.e. a dead camera) have chosen not to say what happened.
Makes you wonder. If it were me I'd want the world to know about my dead 5DII and precisely how it got that way

What do you really think the odds are that the 2 folks who hit the dead camera button on this poll actually had any problem with their 5D2?
PS. My camera runs fine with 2.0.3, but I haven't tried any of the modes that supposedly create the problem.
It is odd that those two people would keep so quiet about their cameras dying. Nikonians trolling? But if 2 out of 30 genuine 5D2 owners really have had their cameras die then this is a very serious problem.

I'm not prepared to call anyone a liar without good reason. I and many others clearly haven't had a problem with the upgrade, but if cameras are genuinely dying the way they did with the 20D upgrade Canon needs to know about it and acknowledge it.
I thought this would be a good way of finding out, but those who are saying they have a problem clearly don't want to talk about it. Which to me, is odd.

Apparently they did and [url=http://web.canon.jp/imaging/eosd/firm-e/eos5dmk2/firmware.html]pulled the FW already[/lurl]
Canon have pulled the upgrade because of a fault they found in the sound under certain circumstances, NOT that the upgrade would completely disable the camera which is what a couple users are apparently saying, if you read the posts you will see that pretty much everyone who has upgraded the firmware has a perfectly useable camera

Oh ok ... Well .. it's not an end-of-the-world issue then. Good. Nobody's camera's burst mode kept going higher and higher and wouldn't stop .. like some Toyotas then.
